iOS 27's small paste shortcut is the feature you'll use most

iOS 27 puts whatever you've just copied right above the keyboard, cutting the old tap-and-hold paste routine down to one tap.

Big iOS updates are usually about flashy features, but one of the most useful changes in iOS 27 is tiny: a paste shortcut built right into the bar above the keyboard.

Before, pasting on an iPhone meant copying something, switching apps, tapping the text box, waiting for the little menu to appear and then hitting Paste.

Now, when you copy text, a link or a photo and open a text field in another app, a suggestion pops up automatically above the keyboard. It even shows a preview, a snippet of the text or a small thumbnail of the image, so you know exactly what you're about to paste.

It's perfect for tracking numbers, links and quick photo shares. It's a small tweak, but it saves a few taps many times a day.
