Five great Android features Samsung and Google still don't offer
From truly fast charging to clever extras, other Android brands still have tricks Galaxy and Pixel phones lack.
Samsung and Google get most of the Android spotlight, and for good reasons such as long update support and plenty of exclusive features. But they don't have everything, and a few features from other brands are worth envying.
Charging speed is the easiest example. Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra tops out at 60W and the Pixel 11 Pro at 45W, meaning roughly an hour and just under two hours for a full charge. Both are upgrades after years of sitting at about half those speeds.
Compare that with the OnePlus 15, which fills up in around 40 minutes at 80W, or phones from HUAWEI, Xiaomi and OPPO that support 120W or more. These speeds are rarer in the US because they depend on proprietary chargers and can stress batteries a bit more.
Faster charging is just one of several areas where rival Android makers are ahead, a good reminder that the best Android features aren't always on the best-known phones.
